Scientists at the Royal College of London are working on the creation of revolutionary drugs that can reduce the damage caused by myocardial infarction.
These drugs can block the transmission of dangerous chemical signals occurring at the time of cardiac arrhythmia, and due to the insufficient amount of chemicals that cause the death of large parts of the heart tissue. Afterwards, lethal diseases such as heart failure, new heart attack or even stroke may develop.
The results of the drug test have shown that it is able to reduce the degree of cardiac damage after the incidence of muscle infarction by up to 60%, increasing the researchers' hopes to improve survival indicators in the occurrence of one of the most common heart disease. After the completion of these tests and the safety of these drugs, and after clinical trials on humans in 2021, it is expected to revolutionize the actual treatment of myocardial infarction.
