Initially, the chair was estimated at $ 13,000 and the final cost was 30 times more. Along with the chair, Hawking's 1965 dissertation, "Universe Expansion Features" was sold. Because it gave $ 767,000, which is more than three times the expected price. The proceeds will be transferred to two charities – Foundation Stephen Hawking and the Neuronal Engineer Association.
Stephen Hawking was born on January 8, 1942 in Oxford. In 1963, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis was diagnosed, after 22 years lost the ability to speak. Hawking has become one of the well-known theoretical physicists of our time. The scientist died on March 14, 2018 at his home in Cambridge.
