Features of the episode of this week Rick Kenney, Head of Consumer Insights at Salesforce. You might remember when he shared insights with us around the world Holiday season 2017. Rick's expertise is at the crossroads of commerce and marketing. He has been in Salesforce for eight years and has lived and breathed in detail with our retail clients of all shapes and sizes since the beginning. (So, let's say, know a thing or two about retailing!)

Today, Rick will give us a preview of the insights found in our recently published First buyer report. This second annual report is unique in that it captures firsthand insights from the eyes, voices and actions of actual buyers. And we are talking about many buyers. We started by looking at the behaviors and actions of over 500 million buyers, including over 200 million support cases. Thus, we have fielded a survey of 6,000 buyers from all over the world.

But we did not stop here. We wanted to get some practical insights to complete this study, so we sent mysterious buyers to 70 physical flagship stores to document their in-store experiences – from mobile features to the loyalty program mentions – capturing every detail from mobile phone integration in the store. purchase experience due to the presence of loyalty programs in the customer journey.

Our ultimate goal was to help brands and retailers learn new ways to meet and exceed the expectations of ever-changing shoppers, especially in the face of markets that have taken a bigger slice of the retail puzzle.
