Space ship Beresheet completed another successful Moonshine maneuver, SpaceIL and Israel Aerospace Industries confirmed on Monday morning.

Engineering teams said the Israeli lunar mission had successfully completed the maneuver at 07:48 hours.

"During the maneuver, the engines worked for about 36 seconds, and the amount of combusted fuel was about six kilograms," they said. "During the maneuver, the height of Apollo (the farthest distance from the Moon) was reduced from 750 kilometers to 200 kilometers from the Moon and actually became Perilone, the closest to the Moon."

IAI and SpaceIL have explained that "a spacecraft is now in an elliptical orbit at an altitude of 211 km to 467 miles from the moon".

On Sunday at 4:36 pm, Israeli time, Beresheet successfully carried out the first maneuver around the moon, confirmed by SpaceIL's engineering team and Israel Aerospace Industries.

"During the maneuver, Beresheet's engines worked for about 271 seconds, and the amount of combusted fuel was about 55 kg," they said. "In this maneuver, all the engines worked at the same time to slow the aircraft with the maximum boost so far."

On April 5, Beresheet also filmed the moon for the first time while the engines worked and was at the height of a complex maneuver to capture the moon.

During the coming week, intensive maneuvers and landing preparations will be conducted.

Beresheet is expected to land on the moon on Thursday, April 11th.
