How to connect multiple existing console accounts

Playstation eventually succumbed to community pressure and activated the cross-platform game with Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Epic knows that some players had to create multiple accounts to play on different devices and now they have posted a guide on how to link these accounts together.

STAGE 1 – IDENTIFICATION OF AN ACCOUNT OF THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CONSOLE.

First you need to determine the following:

  • Which console contains the purchases and progression you care about most? We call this yours Primaryconsole.
  • Which console are you comfortable with since you do not have access to your purchases until you complete the account merging flow in November? We call this yours Secondary console.

In the example scenario, we select PlayStation as the main console and Switch to Secondary.

STEP 2 – MAKE SURE THAT CONSOLE ACCOUNTS ARE UPDATED TO NEW EPIC ACCOUNTS

Note: you need to perform the following steps for BOTH yours Primary is Secondary console account. At the end of this process, you will have two separate Epic accounts, each associated with a console.

Follow these steps for every account to create an epic account association:

    1. Visit www.epicgames.com and sign out of all accounts that have logged in.
    2. Click SIGN IN in the upper right corner of the page.
    3. On the login page, select the console (such as PlayStation or Switch) where you are logging in.
For our example scenario, we are first checking if our Switch account has an epic account association and we are selecting the Switch icon.

    1. Use the login pop-up that appears for the selected console (in this case, Switch).

Step02_05_EpicGamesHome.pngOtherwise, continue with the following steps.

  1. If your console account does not have an epic account association, you'll need to create a new one. Complete the following fields on this page to create a new epic account that will automatically be associated with the selected console. IS important insert in Valid Email Address how you will need to check before you can complete the process.

  1. As a reminder, you MUST do this for both the accounts of your main and secondary console, in order for this process to work. NOTE: A separate email address is required for each account, as an email address can only be associated with a single Epic account. (Epic apologizes for this complication.)
  2. Be sure to keep the login information for the Epic account associated with yours Secondary console account as you'll need it in November to merge purchases, etc.

STEP 3 – UNLOCK THE SECONDARY CONSOLE FROM ITS EPIC ACCOUNT

Now that you've verified or created an epic account mapping for your console accounts, you'll need to unlink your secondary console to link it to the epic account associated with your account Primary console.

  1. Go back to www.epicgames.com and sign out of all accounts that have logged in.
  2. Click SIGN IN in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Access yours Secondary console account. This is the account in which you will temporarily lose access to purchases and progression, until the completion of the account union flow in November.

In the example scenario, the Switch account is the Secondary console account, then the player will log in using their Switch account.

Step03_03_SignInPage.png

    1. Select the account drop-down menu at the top of the page.
    2. Go to the Connected Accounts tab and click Disconnect on the console account you want to unlink (in this case, Switch).

  1. If you have not already done so, you should verify your email by clicking on the verification link that is sent to you by email.
  2. Be sure to read and accept the terms and conditions for unlinking your console account and confirm Disconnect when you are ready!

STEP 4 – CONNECT YOURS SECONDARY CONSULTS OF THE EPIC ACCOUNT ASSOCIATED WITH YOUPRIMARY CONSOLE.

In this last step, you will connect your secondary console (the one disconnected in step 3) with the epic account associated with your main console.

    1. Once again, you will return to www.epicgames.com and exit all accounts that have logged in.
    2. Click SIGN IN in the upper right corner of the page.
    3. This time, log in to Primary console you want to connect to your Epic account.

In our example scenario, we wanted to keep the existing progression on PlayStation so as to access our PlayStation account.
      Step04_03_SignInPSN.png

    1. Use the console login page that opens to access your console (in this case, PlayStation).

      Step04_04_PSNPopUp.png

  1. Select the account drop-down menu at the top of the page.
  2. Go to the Connected Accounts tab and click Connect on the secondary console you want to connect (in this case Switch).
  3. When you connect a new platform, you will be directed to a login page for that console.
  4. After making the console access, the accounts for yours Primary is Secondary accounts will now be connected!
