How to make a synthetic fabric cushion

How to make a synthetic fabric cushionThere's something in the fall that makes me want to bring in all the plots and do all the yarn projects. The addition of that heat really starts to make my home cozy when temperatures plummet. The funny thing is that, as much as I like the craftsmanship of yarn, I still do not know how to knit or weave. But you can bet I know how to pretend the look! I wanted to try my hand to make a fake pillow, and finally I found the time last week. I'm so obsessed with how it came out! And it took only a few hours, which is even more fantastic. I'm going to share how to make a fake pillow with you, so you can also enter this intimate action!

Materials:
-Yarn (more often it's better)
-wool roving
-hot glue or fabric glue
-scissors
-throw pillow with lid
-felt balls (optional)

The process of how to make a fake pillow is quite simple. I will share how to make some of the simple strands of fake fabric like stray balls and braided pieces, so simply use these techniques with the thread in your colors. Once you have made a few different pieces of yarn, you will set them on the pillowcase, but you will like to create your unique look.

For the tassels, wrap the thread around the arm from the palm to the elbow as if you were wrapping an extension cord. Repeat until you have 8-10 threads, then remove from the arm and tie a piece of 6 "thread around the center, fold the ends together and cut the ring ends to form your tassel.

For twisted pieces, create the same threads as the loop yarn as above, but create three. So legal together on one end and weave the three pieces of yarn in sequence to form a sturdy braid. Pull the thread to loosen the braid slightly and then tie the bottom together.

Now that you have all the details on how to make each type of yarn segment on the pillow, creativity comes into play. Change the color, length and type of garment while you go down on the pillow using fabric glue or hot glue to fix the pieces to the pillowcase. You can also use a needle and a thread to make a few quick points around each piece to make sure it stays attached to the case.

As I said, this pillow took about two hours (I just covered the front), but it was a great project to do while watching a movie. I love the texture that brings in my living room and I plan to create others for my bedroom. Now that you know how to make a fake pillow, I can not wait to see which models and color options you choose! xo. Kara
