After four seasons with the Rockets, “Amigo” Herrera signed for the San Antonio Spurs, the team he was associated with until the 97/98 season. After touring several franchises, 99/00 went to play in his country.

He was also part of Venezuela’s best basketball team, the so-called “Heroes of Portland”, who won a silver medal at the 1992 FIBA ​​US Championships. in which only the American “Dream Team” took away their gold.

Herrera did not give more information about the robberies, but in 2014, during an attempted robbery, he was shot in the arm on the Venezuelan island of Margarita, in the middle of the Caribbean.

The bullet struck him in the lungs and, as he later said, he could live with it in his body thanks to the movement he made with his hand when he was shot.
