The Cam Ly landfill in Da Lat suddenly collapsed, thousands of tons of garbage descending down in the form of a "garbage stream" that stretched for miles, burying fields and farms.
Today, the leader of the Da Lat City Council (Lam Dong) directly inspected the scene of the Cam Ly landfill (Section 5, Da Lat City) being eroded, buried in people's fields.
After the check, city leaders directed the functional departments to coordinate with the Da Lat Urban Joint Stock Company (the unit managing the Cam Ly landfill) to damage the statistics, take remedial action. , compensation or assistance to affected households.

According to the investigation, the Cam Ly landfill is located on a high hill in Ward 5, about 5km from Dalat city center. For many years this landfill has polluted the environment and water sources.
In 2015, the landfill closed and solid waste was then moved to a treatment plant, about 20 km from the city center.
By 2017, the landfill will move to its old location.
On average, the Cam Ly landfill receives about 200 tonnes of solid waste from the city.
According to this method, solid waste after transport to the Cam Ly landfill will be treated and buried to limit environmental pollution.

However, according to people who live and produce next to the landfill, they have for many years witnessed the garbage not being buried.
The waste, once collected in the yard, is mainly used by the operator to use bulldozers to push the valley below.

Mr Nguyen Huu Vu (based in Da Lat) said the mountain landslide had buried almost 2000 m2 of daisy flower garden during the harvesting period of the family, causing extensive damage.
Similarly, Mr. Vu Duy Thoan (resident in Ward 5) is also buried with nearly 2,000 m2 of garbage garden, estimated to cost hundreds of millions of VND.
Noticing on the ground, thousands of tons of garbage at the Cam Ly landfill flew over 60 meters into the living space, burying roads and fields, causing production to be completely halted.
There are an estimated 7 ha of land, greenhouses and vegetables in nearly a dozen affected households.
In addition, the trash spilled down into the stream, the water from the landfill flowed black, stinking.
There is a risk of pollution in residential areas, streams.
