Nicola Thorp and Charlie de Melo's lovers crossed out after 10-month-old novels.
Ko-stars started out after working together on ITV soap, but now they say they have gone their separate ways.
30-year-old Nicola has recently returned to soap in the role of Pat Phelan's daughter Nicole Rubenstein, while 28-year-old Charlie plays a sweet lawyer Imran Habeba.
They were close friends for about 10 years before they had made romantic romance in their coexistence.
But now it was said that they called it a termination before Christmas.
The source told The Sun: "Unfortunately, Nicola and Charlie decided to cool down after the break-up.
"Nicola abandoned the soap earlier this summer and burdened their connection, though she was now back in the cocoon.
"They decided to stay friends, though they did not associate with platoons as before they were a couple."
Insajder added that they are happy to stay as they are until things are at work.
Nicola had discovered last autumn that he was a bit jealous, as her boyfriend in the show offered three characters from Leanne and Toyah Battersby.
She said, "Let's just say I'm very, very jealous of Charlie for Georgia [Taylor, who plays Toyah] and Jane [Danson, who plays Leanne] and they are absolutely beautiful. He is a happy man.
Mirror Online contacted Nicola and Charlie's representatives for comment.
