Twenty-one Scottish business group urges the SNP to drop out of town tax on Amazon



The SNP Finance Minister experienced intense pressure to lower his controversial "Amazon Tax" plan after 21 business groups issued a joint warning that this could damage a wide range of other companies.

In a recent collective letter to Derek Mackay, the industrial bodies announced that his plan for additional business and out-of-town business deals hit many "big employers across communities across Scotland."

They said they were "deeply concerned" because the plan warned that the system would "add complexity, cost and unpredictability," and damage business investment.
